The Scottish Stammering Network is a Scottish charity that aims to raise awareness of stammering and support and empower those who stammer. I pitched a campaign idea called ‘Hear the person, not the stammer’ to the charity’s chairperson James Stewart which was then rolled-out across their social channels as their first marketing campaign.

Hear the Person Campaign

The charity was awarded a lottery grant which was used to build on their marketing with a new campaign. We decided to shorten the tagline to ‘Hear the Person’ and the money was used to film a series of six videos with people who stammer where they talk about their experiences (the videos can be viewed at www.scottishstammeringnetwork.org/support/heartheperson/). This first video, featuring John, kicked off the campaign and was described as having ‘gone viral’ in a Sunday Post article after receiving over 20k views.
